Foster graduates celebrate their dreams next week
High school can be tough. So can foster care. Graduating from high school while in foster care is so tough that less than 40 percent of children in foster care make it.
Next Thursday, June 6, more than 50 children in the care of Hamilton County Job & Family Services will celebrate their achievement.
HCJFS realizes the challenge these students faced, and that for many, there’s no graduation party. So, we put on Celebration of Dreams each year. It’s a chance to be recognized, get a nice meal, and leave with a few graduation presents.
If you’d like to support the educational needs of children in foster care, beyond what tax dollars can provide, consider donating to the FAMILY Fund.
