The timed, interactive race will challenge up to 100 teams of five to solve riddles and clues, create works of art and figure out their transit commute. This is the first year that riding Metro is a required part of the challenge. Registered participants will receive special Metro passes for the event. They must strategize how to travel on at least two Metro buses while on the run. The “Amazing Race and Ride” will require creativity and teamwork with visits to six city parks, including Burnet Woods, Fountain Square, Lytle Park, Smale Riverfront Park and Washington Park. “This is a great partnership between the parks and Cincinnati Metro,” said Willie Carden, Cincinnati Parks director. “It’s a fun, creative way to introduce our parks and riding the bus at the same time. We hope this race creates new regular parks visitors and bus riders.” Register at https://parks.cincyregister.com/amazingrace2014 before Sunday, Sept. 21. Cost is $35 per team and prizes will be provided to winning teams. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year. # # #
