Dayal Named Metro's Assistant Director of Procurement
Metro has hired Kunjan Dayal, C.P.M., as assistant director of Procurement and Stores, effective Jan. 21, 2014.CINCINNATI – Metro has hired Kunjan Dayal, C.P.M., as assistant director of Procurement and Stores, effective Jan. 21, 2014. Dayal has significant procurement experience in the public transportation industry. Before joining Metro he was Procurement and Contracts director for TriMet in Portland, Ore., and Procurement and Contracts director for Sound Transit in Seattle, Wash. He also worked at Valley Metro Rail, Inc., the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County, in Phoenix, Ariz. Dayal holds a B.S. degree in information technology from the DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix. He also received a B.A. in mathematics from Delhi University in India. He received his Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation from the Institute of Supply Management. Dayal is on the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) board of directors. He is also a member of the National Contract Management Association, the National Technology Contract Standards development group, National ITS and Bus Standards development group and National Terms and Conditions committee for APTA. Dayal resides in Avondale with his wife and daughter. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year. # # #
