GO RETRO ON METRO

Riders treated to fun 1980’s branded bus and throwback fareCINCINNATI – Metro is going back to the future with its new “Retro Metro” campaign. In a nod to Metro’s more-than 40 decades of service to the greater Cincinnati region and to thank its loyal riders, customers will soon be able to ride in style (almost like) it’s the 1980s on two buses sporting Metro’s 1986 branding. The retro-style buses will travel on various routes throughout Metro’s service area. Lucky riders who board a Retro Metro bus will only pay $0.65, which was the base fare from 1986 – 1993. If they happen to catch Metro Interim CEO Darryl Haley on board, their fare is FREE! During the fun campaign, which launches Nov. 4, Metro customers are invited to share in the nostalgia by posting photos of the bus or comments on social media when they see one of the Retro Metro buses on the road or on their route using #RetroMetro for a chance to win fun prizes. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 14 million rides per year. # # #
