This friendly competition on Nov. 23 resulted in more than 1.5 tons of nonperishable items or about 2,800 meals for the less fortunate in the community. Cincinnati contributed nearly 1,800 pounds of nonperishable items for the Freestore Foodbank at the Anderson Kroger. At the Buttermilk Towne Center Remke Market, Northern Kentucky generated 1,600 pounds of donations for Be Concerned in Covington. Be Concerned has helped low-income families since 1968. It is deeply committed to honoring the dignity and humanity of all persons. Its purpose is to assist low-income people of Northern Kentucky in obtaining basic necessities for life.
