Metro Issues Request for Proposals for Cincinnati Streetcar Branding

Metro issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the creation of a brand identity and branding system for the Cincinnati Streetcar. Proposals are due on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 4 p.m.CINCINNATI – It’s going to be the hottest new product in Cincinnati… and it’s time to brand it. Today, Metro issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the creation of a brand identity and branding system for the Cincinnati Streetcar. Proposals are due on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. Earlier this year, the City of Cincinnati requested that Metro assume responsibility for streetcar marketing and community education. The branding RFP represents a preliminary step toward Metro’s role as operator of the streetcar system. The design of the station stops, vehicles, color scheme, maintenance facility, and other physical aspects of the system have been finalized. Now it’s time to create the permanent brand identity for the Cincinnati Streetcar system, including a logo and guidelines related to its use that will be needed for everything related to streetcar operations, including vehicles, signs, operators’ uniforms, website, and printed materials. All costs for the streetcar branding are being paid by Federal funds dedicated to the Cincinnati Streetcar, not Metro’s operating budget, as part of the development of the project. Metro has a strong commitment to supplier diversity. Metro welcomes the opportunity to work with all businesses, including Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women’s Business Enterprises (WBE), Disability-Owned Business Enterprises (DOBE) and Small Business Enterprises (SBE). Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year. # # #
