Metro Offers Peek at Underground Riverfront Transit Center on Nov. 16

Metro is hosting a Riverfront Transit Center Open House on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, free to the public from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.Free open house features music and prizes; free rides from The Westin CINCINNATI – Here’s your chance to visit a site that’s usually only seen by charter bus passengers going to riverfront events. Metro is hosting a Riverfront Transit Center Open House on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, free to the public from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Metro will be providing information about the unique facility and entertainment including music from Old School 100.3 FM and 101.1 FM The Wiz. Guests can win Metro prizes, visit booths from Metro’s community partners and enjoy fun activities. Free samples of Coca-Cola products and frozen yogurt samples from Orange Leaf at The Banks will be available while supplies last. Metro’s free shuttle from the Westin will transport downtown guests to the Riverfront Transit Center every 15 minutes during the event. Enter at the glass entrance on the north side of Second Street between Race Street and Vine Street (look for balloons/signs). The Riverfront Transit Center, located under Second Street from Central Avenue to Broadway, is used every weekday by Metro’s new Metro*Plus service. It is also used by charter buses every Reds and Bengals game and for riverfront events like Bunbury Music Festival and World Choir Games. The transit center plays a critical function by removing bus traffic from Second Street and The Banks street grid. The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, with partners AGAR and Self Diploma, will be holding the Ubahn music festival, featuring electronic dance and hip hop music, in the Riverfront Transit Center on the nights of Nov. 15 -16.
