Thanks to a partnership with Miami-Jacobs College, Metro is starting a new route, Rt. 68 Sharonville Connection. Metro and Miami-Jacobs have a contract for this service to provide two trips a day along Springfield Pike, arriving at Crowne Point Ct. at 8:15 a.m. and departing at 2:15 p.m., weekdays. Rt. 68 connects to Rts. 20, 43, 67 and 78, which will serve students and benefit area businesses including the Tri-County Mall and Sam’s Club. Students and all passengers must pay Metro Zone 2 fare, $2.65 per trip. “This is a great partnership, and an important benefit for our students,” said Mia Granacher, Campus Director, Miami-Jacobs Career College. “We are excited about the results to come.” Another improvement in the June service change is a new bus stop, turnaround and layover at the Vineyard Church’s Healing Center. The Rt. 78 Springdale-Vine provides frequent service for individuals and families who want to use the Healing Center’s services that include food and clothing, job skills training, job search assistance, mentoring, life skills training, and provides helpful information about local community services. Grand Opening: Metro and the Healing Center are holding a festive celebration for the new bus stop on June 4, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. ““It’s wonderful to see the progress on the Metro bus stop and we’re looking forward to the June 1 service start-up,” said Executive Director of the Healing Center Judy Gillens. Updated schedules for all routes affected by the summer service change can be found on Metro’s website. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year. Learn more at www.go-metro.com. # # #
