Metro Spring Service Changes Begin Sunday, March 2
Metro’s spring service changes will take effect on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Changes will include new service to Evendale, Woodlawn and U.S. Bank Operations Center. New schedules for Rts. 3/3X, 15X, 17, 19, 21, 23/23X, 24, 30X, 32, 33, 41, 43, 51, 64, 71/71X, 74X and 85. New service to Evendale, Woodlawn, U.S. Bank Operations Center CINCINNATI – Metro’s spring service changes will take effect on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Some of the changes are being made as part of the go*Forward transit plan announced in 2013, with new connections to jobs and job training, shopping, and human services. NEW service to Evendale and Woodlawn: Metro’s Rt. 43 will be extended to serve Evendale and Woodlawn, providing new weekday access to Cincinnati State Workforce Development Center, Brown Mackie College, Formica Corporation, Walmart, and Menards. The route also will serve the Social Security Administration office, St. Rita School for the Deaf, and Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services’ Thomas H. Kidd Adult Center. NEW jobs service to U.S. Bank Operations Center: Metro’s Rt. 24 will now offer limited service to the U.S. Bank Lunken Operations Center on Wooster Pike. U.S. Bank partnered with Metro to provide this new transit connection for their employees. Other routes have minor running time adjustments to better serve customers.The following routes have minor schedule changes, effective March 2 (links to new schedules): Rt. 3/3X Montgomery Road Rt. 4 Silverton-Blue Ash – Ridge Road Rt. 17 Seven Hills/Mt Healthy/Mt Airy/Northgate Rt. 19 Colerain Ave. – Northgate Rt. 21 Harrison Avenue Rt. 30X Beechmont Express Rt. 32 Price Hill-Glenway Crossing/Price Hill-Delhi Rt. 33 Western Hills – Glenway Rt. 41 Glenway Crossing-Oakley Crosstown Rt. 51 Glenway Crossing – Hyde Park Crosstown Rt. 64 Glenway Crossing-Westwood Rt. 71/71X Kings Island Express/Job Connection Additional routes will have the following changes starting on March 2: Rt. 15X Daly Express/Mt. Healthy Express: Scheduled arrival times for morning inbound trips to Government Square Area D will be adjusted to three minutes earlier to provide riders more time to get to work. Rt. 23X Tri-County Express/Rt. 23 Forest Park-Northside Job Connection will no longer serve the city of Fairfield or the park and ride at Fairfield Crossing. This change is being made by Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA), which is no longer funding the service. The new end of the line for the Rt. 23X and Rt. 23 will be the Metro park and ride in Forest Park. Alternative options for Rt. 23X riders are: Rt. 23X from its new location at the Forest Park Park & Ride at 1160 Kemper Meadow Lane. The fare is $2.65 each way. Rt. 42X West Chester Express from the Meijer Park & Ride in West Chester located at 7390 Tylersville Rd. The fare is $3.50 each way. Rt. 42X is funded by BCRTA. Rt. 24 Anderson – Uptown: New service for employees who work at the U.S. Bank Lunken Operations Center at 5056 Wooster Pike. The new routing will serve the U.S. Bank office for one trip in morning and one trip in the afternoon. Rt. 43 Evendale-Woodlawn: Extended service to Evendale and Woodlawn on weekdays. This new Rt. 43 service will have a new layover point at Grueninger Way in Woodlawn. Rt. 74X Colerain Express/via Banning (previously Northgate Express/via Banning) In addition to time adjustments, destination sign will reflect service location. Rt. 85 Riverfront Parking Shuttle: The shuttle will reduce the number of morning trips (from 47 to 41) and evening trips (from 51 to 46). There will be adjusted arrival/departure times for most trips and the following routing change: all Main Street trips (Joe Nuxhall Way service) will use Central Ave. (not Smith St.) and all Broadway trips (Pete Rose Way service) will use Smith St. (not Central Ave.). Schedules are now available at http://www.go-metro.com//Maps-and-Schedules, and will soon be available by mail and in the Mercantile Building, 120 E. Fourth Street, across from the Government Square transit center, weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pick up new bus schedules on Government Square: Metro representatives will be at the Government Square transit center downtown on Friday, Feb. 28, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., distributing new schedules to riders and answering questions.
