Metro's Public Affairs Manager Receives Mass Transit Magazine's 40 Under 40 Award
Jill Dunne, Metro’s Public Affairs Manager, was named to Mass Transit Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list.CINCINNATI – Jill Dunne, Metro’s Public Affairs Manager, was named to Mass Transit Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list, honoring professionals who have made significant contributions to the public transit industry. She is featured in the September/October 2012 issue and on Mass Transit’s website. Dunne, a Fort Thomas, Ky. Resident, is responsible for managing and implementing media, public and community relations to increase awareness and drive ridership for Cincinnati Metro. She led the effort to redesign Metro’s website and manages Metro’s social media efforts. She joined Metro in 2010. Honorees were nominated by their peers and judged on criteria that included job commitment, industry involvement and contribution, achievement in his or her position and innovation in his or her field. Before joining Metro, she was Senior Account Executive for O’Keeffe Communications. She was also Public Relations Manager and spokesperson for the Newport Aquarium for five years. In her role at the Aquarium she was interviewed live on The Today Show and Good Morning America, and was quoted in the New York Times. She has also worked at Western & Southern Financial Group and interned in the public relations departments at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Bell. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year. # # #
