National Achievement: Metro Receives "Clean" Triennial Review from Federal Transit Administration

This month, the Federal Transit Administration awarded Metro a clean Triennial Review with no deficiencies and no recommendations for improvement, a rare achievement in the transit industry. CINCINNATI — Every three years, the Federal Transit Administration rigorously reviews Metro’s performance for compliance in 24 areas, including legal, financial, maintenance of buses and facilities, procurement, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, security and safety, public participation, and employment. This month, FTA awarded Metro a clean review with no deficiencies and no recommendations for improvement. This is a rare achievement in the transit industry. “We take our responsibility to operate an efficient, well-run transit system very seriously,” said Metro’s CEO & General Manager Terry Garcia Crews. “It’s an honor to have the hard work and dedication of our staff recognized in this way by the Federal Transit Administration.” Metro also has received the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for 20 consecutive years. Metro is a non-profit public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati. # # #
