Parkes Named As Metro’s Director Of Procurement
CINCINNATI –Metro has appointed Wright Parkes as Director of Procurement and Storeroom, effective May 16, 2011.CINCINNATI –Metro has appointed Wright Parkes as Director of Procurement and Storeroom, effective May 16, 2011. Parkes has over 25 years of procurement experience. Before joining Metro he was the Director of Procurement for Hampton Roads Transit in Norfolk, Va. He also worked at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority in Washington, DC, and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. Parkes started his procurement career with the Sharon Companies as the Contract Manager and House Counsel. Parkes holds a M.A. from Ohio University and a J.D. from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Parkes is a member of the American Public Transportation Association, a member of the Procurement & Material Management Committee and the Chair for the Procurement Subcommittee. Parkes and his wife have two daughters and two grandchildren. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year.
