Ride Metro to Get Off to a Good Start for Flying Pig Marathon

Metro is helping participants get to the starting line of the 16th Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon with a Flying Pig day pass and an early morning express bus on Sunday, May 4, 2014.Flying Pig day pass and race-day express service from Tri-County Mall CINCINNATI – Metro is helping participants get to the starting line of the 16th Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon with a Flying Pig day pass and an early morning express bus on Sunday, May 4, 2014. The Flying Pig day pass provides unlimited rides on Metro throughout the city for participants and spectators on May 4. This pass, sold for $4.50, makes it easier for families and friends to take Metro to different viewing areas to cheer their Flying Pig participant. The pass is available at the Metro booth at the Flying Pig Expo on May 2-3 or online at www.flyingpigmarathon.com. Metro is also offering a new early-morning Flying Pig Express bus directly from Tri-County Mall to Third & Central Streets, downtown, near the starting line. Riders can park free in the lot behind the mall. The bus leaves promptly at 5:15 a.m. For return trips after the race, just board Metro’s Rt. 78 Springdale-Vine bus at Sixth & Vine downtown and get off at the bus stop on Kemper in front of the mall. The Flying Pig day pass ($4.50) covers round-trip fare; $2.65 cash (exact change) one- way is also accepted. Metro’s Flying Pig spectator’s guide featuring bus-riding tips and highlighted viewing locations will be available at the Flying Pig Expo and is online at www.go-metro.com/uploads/FlyingPig2014.pdf. Metro detours during the Flying Pig Marathon will be posted on www.go-metro.com/service-detours. Metro is a non-profit, tax-funded public service of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, providing about 17 million rides per year. # # #
