With that in mind, the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (which operates Metro) is seeking public comments on the following potential changes in service, effective on or after Aug. 14, 2011: Introduce new rush-hour express service from Western Hills directly to Uptown (University of Cincinnati, hospitals, and other major employers). This route will provide faster service to the Uptown area, which represents thousands of jobs. Change Metro Rt. 1 Museum Center-Mt. Adams-Zoo service frequency from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes during non-rush-hour times on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekday rush-hour service will continue to run every 30 minutes. Eliminate the Rt. 62 Fairfield Job Connection and Rt. 62X Fairfield Express; extend Rt. 23X Tri-County Express to provide service to and from the Fairfield area. This change is being proposed by Butler County Regional Transit Authority (which funds the Rt. 62/62X service) and will provide more trip options for Fairfield commuters. SORTA will hold a public meeting on Friday, June 10, 2011, in Metro’s Mt. Adams Conference Room, 12th floor of the Gwynne Building, 602 Main Street. The public may attend anytime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to comment on the proposed service changes. Sign language and Spanish interpreters will be available at the meeting if requested at least one week prior to the meeting. Accessible format and Spanish language materials will be available if the request is received one week prior to the meeting.
