Shelter Facilities for Homeless Single Adults

Hamilton County provides 5 shelters for single adults struggling with homelessness. The shelters were built using funds provided by the Hamilton County Indigent Care Levy, and are operated in coordination with the City Gospel Mission, Lighthouse Youth & Family Services, Shelterhouse, and Talbert House. Each of the five facilities provide day-time services and healthcare for individuals staying in shelter.

Shelter Facilities

City Gospel Mission Shelter. This 70-bed emergency shelter for men is operated by the City Gospel Mission. The shelter has a healthcare partnership to provide services for men struggling with addiction and mental health issues. These services include detox, intensive outpatient treatment, individual and group counseling, and access to a nurse and a nurse practitioner. The shelter is located at 1805 Dalton Avenue . The following five facilities

Sheakley Center for Youth. This 36-bed shelter is operated by Lighthouse, for young men and women aged 18 through 24. The Center has health care professionals on site to help residents with medication management, health education, first aid, connection to resources, and therapeutic one-on-one support during times of stress. David and Rebecca Barron Center for Men. This 150-bed facility for men (which also offers expanded winter capacity for both men and women) is operated by Shelterhouse. It includes a state-of-the-art medical facility within the shelter. The clinic is fully staffed five days a week with a nurse practitioner and medical doctor. Esther Marie Hatton Center for Women. This 72-bed facility for women is also operated by Shelterhouse. It offers a fully functioning medical clinic, meeting the specific needs of women. Special attention is given to women who present in the clinic and are pregnant. The shelter additionally offers recovery services and mental health services. Parkway Center. This 51-bed facility, operated by Talbert House, provides transitional housing for homeless men and women. How to Gain Admission

There is a Central Access Point phone line for locating shelter in Hamilton County, available at (513) 381-7233. They accept calls from 9 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday, and from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday and Sunday. If a preferred shelter is full, they can direct you to a different shelter, or notify you as soon as a bed becomes available.
