Taste of Belgium Buys Cincinnati Streetcar Advertising

$224,000 total in advertising sold so far; more deals in the worksCINCINNATI – With so little advertising space left on the Cincinnati Streetcar, Taste of Belgium didn’t waffle. As the newest advertiser on the Cincinnati Streetcar, Taste of Belgium purchased the last available exterior ad and interior ads on all five vehicles. “In 2008 when I started the conversation with 3CDC about opening a new bistro in Over the Rhine, I chose the corner of 12th and Vine because it was going to be located on the streetcar line. I’ve been a fervent supporter for a long time and by advertising on the streetcar I’m putting my money where my mouth is,” said Jean-François Flechet, owner of Taste of Belgium. “The streetcar will make it easy to get to Taste of Belgium at the Banks, our OTR Bistro, and our original Findlay Market location.” Advertising Vehicles — which has the contract with the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority to sell the naming rights and advertising on the Cincinnati Streetcar — has sold about $224,000 in Cincinnati Streetcar advertising in advance of the Sept. 9 grand opening of the streetcar system. Revenue from streetcar advertising and naming rights will be used to help fund streetcar operations. “We are happy to partner with another great dining and entertainment destination that’s growing,” said L. V. Semona, Co-Founder & Director of Sales for Advertising Vehicles. “Taste of Belgium is passionate about what the streetcar represents and is yet another of Cincinnati’s finest culinary and social brands advertising on the streetcar.” Kerry Toyota was also signed a two-year contract for interior ads on all five cars. It was recently announced that Richter & Phillips Jewelers and Four Entertainment Group had purchased advertising on the streetcars, and several other advertising contracts are being finalized About The Cincinnati Streetcar: Scheduled to open in September 2016, the Cincinnati Streetcar is intended to expand transportation options, stimulate development, and enhance livability by connecting downtown, the riverfront and Over the Rhine.
