Construction for utility relocation and renewal will continue to close Government Square from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Feb. 27 but possibly longer. CINCINNATI – Construction for utility relocation and renewal will continue to close Government Square from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Feb. 27 but possibly longer. Signs will notify Metro riders of pick up and drop off locations. Government Square Areas A, B, C are closed and routes have been reassigned to other locations: Rts. 43 and 46 (normally at Area C) have been moved to Area H Rts. 20 and 24 (normally at Area B) have been moved Area G Rts. 11 and 33 (normally at Area A) have been moved Area E Rts. 17, 19 and 71 (normally at Area B) have been moved Area E In addition to Government Square detours, the bus stops on Walnut/Court and 8th/Walnut are closed for the next several days. Rts. 17, 19, 20, 21 and 24 will service 7th/Walnut. Signs are posted advising this change. Metro will have extra employees stationed at Government Square to help riders and a police officer will direct traffic during the construction. Located on Fifth Street between Walnut and Main Streets, Government Square is Metro’s largest transit hub. More than 15,000 people use Government Square each weekday.
