Metro Schedule & Surprise FREE Rides During the Holidays

During the holidays, Metro’s fixed-route, MetroNow! and Access paratransit services will operate on the normal schedule, except on Christmas and New Years day. Instead of following the regular Wednesday schedule on these days, these Metro transit services will follow what is normally the Sunday schedule.

Metro’s administrative offices and the Downtown Sales Office will be closed on Wednesday, December 25th, and Wednesday, January 1st, in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

There will be several holiday traditions that Metro will continue this year. One of these is their Merry Merry Metro Bus tradition, offering Surprise FREE Rides on certain routes. From Saturday, December 14th through Sunday, December 29th, two buses in the Metro fleet will circulate through Metro’s fixed routes, with their cabins decorated in holiday trim. If one of these buses arrives on your route, your ride will be FREE! While you can’t “plan” on free bus fare this holiday season, the Merry Metro Bus is hoped to be a nice Christmas gift for regular riders.

The Cincinnati Metro is also continuing their Santa on the Square tradition. Santa will visit their central transit hub at Government Square, Monday December 16th, from 1 PM to 2 PM, and from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM! During these times Santa will reportedly greet Metro riders and hand out treats.
