CRC Teen Recreation Nights, Saturday Evenings Starting June 6th

Through the summer every Saturday night starting in June, the Cincinnati Recreation Center provides dinner and a variety of teen programming, such as late-night open swim, Live DJs, Esports, Open Gym Play, Basketball, Art Projects, haircuts and braiding, dancing and socializing, and Food Trucks. Over 300 teens attend every Saturday. The evening events are geared for teens ages 12 through 17, and are hosted at 4 locations.

The four locations are: the Lincoln Heights Recreation Center at 1027 Linn Street, the Hirsch Recreation Center at 3630 Reading Road, the Evanston Rec Center at 3204 Woodburn Avenue, and the Winton Hills Rec Center at 5170 Winneste Avenue. The Saturday night teen programming at these locations is open from 5 PM to 10 PM .

Recreational events provide teenagers with opportunities to socialize and make new friends, promoting a sense of community and belonging. They also offer a healthy outlet for stress relief and relaxation, helping teenagers maintain a positive mental health and well-being. Engaging in recreational activities can also help teens develop important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

The CRC’s Saturday night teen programming is committed to ensuring that every teen, regardless of background, feels welcome and represented. This attention to inclusivity fosters understanding and respect among participants, bridging gaps and celebrating differences. Through partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, the police department, and support from city officials, Rec at Nite not only enhances safety but also actively works to improve the quality of life for all community members, nurturing a sense of belonging and collective responsibility.
