Department Of Disability Services Hosts Zoom Support Meeting Every 4th Tuesday

People with disabilities often face unique challenges in navigating the healthcare system, including communication barriers, lack of accessibility, and discrimination. Therefore, it is crucial for individuals with disabilities to receive support for advocacy in their healthcare to ensure they receive the appropriate care and accommodations they need. Advocacy can help individuals with disabilities communicate their needs effectively, advocate for their rights, and ensure they are treated with respect and dignity in healthcare settings.

The Hamilton County Department of Disability Services hosts a zoom support meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 3 to 4 PM. The meeting focuses on How to Advocate for Your Healthcare, and encourages participants to share experiences and feelings. The zoom discussion focuses on day-to-day mental & physical health, managing one’s own healthcare, staying healthy, and obtaining advocacy at medical appointments. No registration is required, simply follow the provided link to join the zoom meeting at the designated meeting time. Those with questions can email Amber Cowart for more information.
