Bike and Ride the Bus FREE on Bike-To-Work Day, Friday May 16th

Thinking about giving commuting by bike a try? Friday, May 16th, is the perfect time to start. In celebration of National Bike-to-Work Day, Metro is offering free rides to bus riders who bring a bike.

Anyone who loads a bike onto a bus’s front-mounted bike rack will ride for free that trip. It’s a great opportunity to discover how simple and convenient it is to combine biking and busing for your daily commute.

All Metro buses are equipped with easy-to-use bike racks that hold up to two bicycles. Please note that bikes are not permitted inside buses unless they are foldable and can fit under a seat. A video tutorial on how to use the bike rack found on the front of Metro buses is available as a YouTube video.

Additionally for Bike-to-Work Day, Metro is sponsoring a FREE Breakfast on the Newport side of the Purple People Bridge, May 16th from 7 AM to 9 AM. There will be free breakfast, resources, and more. Metro will be there with a demo bike rack so attendees can learn how to load a bike on the bus.
